Board of Directors

John McLernon is Chair of WorkWithUs and Streetohome Foundation.

John is Honorary Chair and Co-Founder of the Colliers Macaulay Nicolls Group of Companies. As CEO for 25 years, he developed Colliers from a local Vancouver company to one of the top global commercial real estate service providers operating in some 60 countries. He served as Chair and Chief Executive Officer from 1977 to 2002, and Chairman until December 2004.

He is currently Chair of A&W Income Trust, Village Farms International and City Office REIT. He is also a Director of Canadian Urban Limited, and Mark Anthony Group of Companies.

Ida Goodreau is the former CEO of Vancouver Coastal Health, one of six regional health authorities in BC.

She has extensive executive management experience in healthcare, forestry and natural gas, and has worked in New Zealand, Norway, Ontario and BC.

She sits on the Boards of Fortis Inc. and Fortis BC, Pharmasave Drugs and is a past Director of Shell Canada.

Ida is heavily involved in the community and non-profit sector and, in addition to WorkWithUs and Streetohome, sits on the boards of Genome BC (Chair), Crofton House School and Snug Cove House Society.

Joanne Gassman was with BMO Bank of Montreal for more than 39 years, most recently retiring from her position as the Senior Vice President of Personal & Commercial Banking for BC & Yukon Division.

After retiring, Joanne took on a new consulting role with BMO Financial Group nationally, as the Senior Vice President, Women’s Market. In this new capacity, Joanne will continue to promote BMO’s focus on the needs of women entrepreneurs by improving the business and financial information available for women.

Joanne is a member of the Board of Advisors for GroYourBiz, an initiative developed for women entrepreneurs who want to take their business to the next level and is a member of the Women’s Business Economic Advisory Board.

As well as sitting on the WorkWithUs and Streetohome Board, Joanne is Chair of the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art, Chair of I am Powerful Council (Vancouver) for CARE Canada.

She holds an MBA from Dalhousie University.

Rob Turnbull has 30 years of experience in health care and housing including public health, community health centres, acute care hospitals, community living, youth detention, family physician engagement, long term care and homelessness. Rob’s most recent senior managerial posts include Chief Operating Officer at Menno Home & Menno Hospital in Abbotsford, BC and Director of Primary Health Care and Chronic Disease Management at Interior Health Authority in Kelowna, BC.

He has a proven track record in optimizing resource allocations, introducing innovative and evidence-based operations and developing mutually-beneficial partnerships with similar business entities, universities and community organizations. Rob also has a strong background in governance and strategic planning in non-profit organizations and in organization development including culture change, a coaching management model and self-led teams. He obtained his Ph.D. in Community Health, Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Toronto.

Paul Tournier is an entrepreneurial executive with 20+ years experience in leadership roles. Paul has worked with organizations and clients across the globe and led complex global transformation programs, delivering significant business value to clients through the combination of Consulting, Technology and Business Process Outsourcing. Having worked both as a consultant and as a business executive, Paul brings strategic and operational experience.
